Regarding the length calculation of cables wound on a reel, there has never been a universally applicable calculation method in our cable industry. Let me introduce it below.Cable reelcalculation method.
Common calculation methods include:
1: Volume calculation method.
2: Integral calculation method.
3: Layered calculation method.
These methods are not absolutely accurate or inaccurate; there will always be some deviation in the actual winding process. The main reasons for deviation include: 1: The outer diameter of the cable is not a perfect circle, 2: The tightness of the cable arrangement, 3: Possible skipping during the arrangement process, 4: Uneven gaps when the cable reaches the side plate end face, etc.
Since various theoretical calculation methods may differ from the actual winding length, I choose one theoretical calculation method and combine it with data obtained from past practices to minimize this error value as much as possible.
1: Choose a relatively simple method from the above calculation methods: Volume calculation method.
Volume calculation method. Its theoretical basis is: Length of cable wound = Usable volume of the reel / Cross-sectional area of the cable * Empirical coefficient.
2: Refer to the empirical values of actual winding lengths from previous cable factories. The table below summarizes data obtained from practice. Since all records are for delivery reels, there are some discrepancies between the reel dimensions and standard reel dimensions, resulting in some discrepancies in the winding length.
