1. Classification of cable reels
Cable reels are divided into two main categories based on the driving form: non-electric and electric; based on the arrangement of cables, they are divided into axial single-row and axial multi-row; based on the position of the collector slip ring, they are divided into internal slip ring and external slip ring; based on the winding material, they are divided into Kaihui cable drums and hose drums. Among them, the non-electric type includes: elastic (TA) type, heavy hammer (ZC) type, magnetic coupling (JQC); the electric type includes: magnetic coupling (JQD), torque motor (KDO), hysteresis (CZ), and variable frequency control (BP) etc.
2. Principles, performance, and applications of cable reels
1. Elastic cable reel
a. Working principle:
The working principle of the elastic cable drum is similar to that of a steel tape measure, using a spiral spring as the power source to retract the cable. When the cable is pulled out, the spiral spring tightens and stores energy; when the external force is removed, the spring releases energy, and the drum automatically retracts the cable.
b. Performance and characteristics:
Simple installation, good synchronization performance, low cable tension, but the spring is prone to fatigue and has a short service life.
c. Applicable range:
Applicable cables: power cables with a cross-sectional area of less than 35mm and signal cables with less than 24 cores;
Winding length: no more than 30m;
Applicable equipment: such as electromagnetic suction cups, grabs, electric trolleys, etc.
2. Heavy hammer cable reel
a. Working principle:
The heavy hammer cable reel is a mechanical device that automatically winds the cable using the principle of energy storage by lifting a heavy hammer. When the cable is pulled out, it drives the cable reel to rotate, which in turn drives the steel wire rope drum that is coaxially connected to the cable drum to rotate, lifting the heavy hammer and storing potential energy. When the drum needs to wind the cable, the heavy hammer descends to release potential energy, and under the tension of the steel wire rope, it drives the cable reel that is coaxially connected to the steel wire rope drum to rotate, synchronously winding the cable.
b. Performance and characteristics:
Simple structure, stable and reliable performance, easy installation and maintenance.
c. Applicable range:
Applicable cables: cables with a cross-sectional area of 25~50 mm.
Winding length: less than 50m.
Applicable equipment: especially suitable for harsh working conditions, such as various steel ladle cars, molten iron cars, slag pot cars, and other metallurgical vehicles and mining vehicles.
